Responsible AI Policy Template
Artificial intelligence can improve efficiency, accessibility, decision-making and service quality, but it can also create risks such as inaccurate outputs, unfair outcomes, misuse of information, weak accountability and loss of trust.
This policy sets out how an organisation will select, introduce and use AI responsibly. It establishes clear principles for human oversight, transparency, fairness, privacy, security and accountability, while enabling proportionate innovation.
The policy applies to employees, contractors, suppliers and partners using or managing AI on the organisation’s behalf. It is intended to ensure that AI is used only for approved and legitimate purposes, that risks are assessed before implementation, and that AI systems remain effective, explainable and appropriately monitored throughout their lifecycle.
